Carlingwark is a small loch on the western edge of the market town of Castle Douglas. The site is well placed to drive to Dalbeattie, Mabie and reach Kirroughtree, the booking centre can advise groups on locations, access etc.
There are two buildings; a dormitory block, (The Isle House), which is a converted two storey dwelling house and a teaching/dining block, (The Centre), that also houses showers, changing accommodation and a drying room. And there is heating!

Carlingwark is self catering, although food can be provided. On site there is a fully equiped kitchen, suitable for a small group or for making snacks, TV and video (other audio-visual equipment may be available). Five bedroms, sleeping a maximum of 28 people. Residents must bring their own pillow cases and sleeping bags.
