With an extensive network of wonderfully quiet roads, Dumfries and Galloway is ideal cycle touring country. National Cycle Network Route 7 runs right through the region from Gretna and into Ayrshire, Route 74 runs through the eastern edge (see www.sustrans.org ). There is plenty of accommodation from campsites to country house hotels, refer to the Accommodation section of this site.
