

This year the Tour of Britain Scottish stage starts in Dumfries on the 15th of September.
A host of entertainment, including a giant screen showing cycling interest footage and Ice Age 2 (free of charge), West Sound Radio, children’s cycling activities, including Stepping Stanes race, skills area and 7stanes, local food producers and street theatre are all part of the festivities. Bring your bike!
The race itself departs at 11.15am, and will go through the High Street before heading up to Drumlanrig Castle. From there it continues to Glasgow Green, a grueling 80 mile stage in total, that will complete the 2007 Tour of Britain. Included in the field of elite riders will be T-Mobile’s Linus Gerdemann who won an alpine stage at this year’s Tour de France, and Robbie Hunter, of South Africa, who won Stage 11 in the Tour.

Bikes must be road legal. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Family events and kids races and skills areas are run by Dumfries and Galloway Council, Outdoor Services, 7stanes, Stepping Stanes and Biking Heaven.
